With nearly 25 years of leadership and lending expertise, Shane Van Engen has been promoted to bank president for Frandsen Bank & Trust’s Mankato and North Mankato branches, effective Jan. 1, 2026.
In his new role, Shane will lead bank operations for Mankato and North Mankato communities, collaborating closely with Nick Hinz, while continuing to support customers in Waterville.
“I’ve been personally invested in Mankato and supported businesses in the area for 14 years,” said Shane. “I’m excited and passionate about an expanded opportunity to support the growth of my partners and customers.”
Known for his hands-on approach to banking, Shane prioritizes relationship-building and takes time to listen and understand his customers’ needs, providing personalized guidance every step of the way. He specializes in manufacturing, distribution, and commercial real estate (CRE) lending.

Recognized for his commitment to Frandsen Bank and passion for community-first banking, Nick Hinz has been promoted to chief banking officer of Frandsen Financial Corporation. Nick will still be available to support customers during this transition.
